Yes tiki @ neverajw I agree.
I received a birthday card from my boy "To my dad. To the person that always stands up for me........." That in its self was worth all the crap involved with leaving the organisation.
The Rebel.
on another thread i commented " the most wonderful thing for me about having left the organisation is giving an education to my child, encouraging him to be dedicated and committed to the person he himself wants to be".
for me that is the best thing about being free from the organisations control.. what has been your best realisation having left the organisation?.

The Rebel.
hi guys, .
in discussions with a current jw, they told me that have big concerns with regards to the 607 bce date, but they are waiting on jehovah for refining.
any suggestions on questions to pose to them based on their feedback?.
Annon ( Q ) Any advice on questions to pose to them based on their feedback?
The Rebel.( A) They believe the Watchtower are the packagers and owners of truth, it's your job to pose questions to prove they are not. But don't give up hope if they don't reason, the organisation has done its job of indoctrination on them over many years. So stay friends and be pleased you saw through the indoctrination. Most importantly give them time to come around," chip away at them" is a term we used when I conducted bible studies. The same I am sure is true, when on the other side.

i tried testing my family by mentioning that a member of the gb was summoned to appear in front of the royal commission and i found it really weird how they reacted.they dismissed it saying its just satan attacking the 'truth' and i could not believe how ignorant they are.they all think that the organization did nothing wrong or even that jw's abuse their children.
why am I not surprised?
I have had similar discussions the conversation usually ends soon after. The reaction is never one of outrage that what I say may be true, more one of outrage that I raised the comment. Oh well, they can continue to believe and I can continue to be me, let's stay friends. I sometimes think that's the most important.

life has been busy, but i am now on 2 weeks vacation which allowed me some thinking room.
and here's what's been on my mind.. we're all going to die.
no matter what we do, our fate is sealed.
The question I have asked myself WHEN I become aware of my imminent passing, will I believe in God again, as I am sure I will clamour for new new insights.
Anyway being alive I can realise my dream, and that is the hope that my boy will remember me with love and that my parental skills play apart in his having a successful life. It's the most wonderful thing giving an education to your child, encouraging them to be dedicated and committed to what THEY want to do. That's the best thing with being free with the organisation in my opinion.
The Rebel ( with a cause)
so i was fooled by the witnesses.
what can i learn from that?
not to accept things at face value but to seek out opinion and different view points.. hence my question " do you believe man landed on the moon?.
Funnily enough Wizard of Oz, I researched that site only yesterday, and the evidence seems very damning for man having landed on the moon. I discovered a debate on another forum which has run for years. It has many qualified and opposing views and much of the evidence presented from your link is challenged.
Anyway personally some topics cause way to much melodrama so I was thinking of starting a debate based on why we chose our user names, My name " The Rebel" is based on the Johnny Yuma character.
thanks for the link.

Some would say to deny God is to deny the reality of much of the whole world.
Yet I deny God because I accept much of the reality of the whole world.
Thats the beauty of living in a free land, citizens are free to question everything, and believe what they wish. So a person thinking or even having absolute assurances that something, did or did not happen, is not justification, to belittle someone who has opposing views, may be lacking in facts, and also may be lacking in critical thinking skills.
But more importantly I appreciate by raising the question on JWC I have been informed mainly in an educational and friendly mannnor,.I appreciate being challenged to research and pointed in the right direction. And as time permits I will do my research, but marriage to a good woman, raising my child, work and appreciating the light evenings allow for limited time. But i think my priorities are right. Finally I guess what I really learnt was some topics cause way to much melodrama.
The Rebel.
i've been enjoying all of the discussions here for a good while now.
i found this site as i was researching things about this religion i've been in (finally after nagging curiosity and questions) but i wanted to figure things out more before coming on here and posting.
i'm glad to see that im not alone or crazy!
Welcome Beautifulmind, and I hope you have a beautiful life outside the organisation.
The Rebel.
my boy is 10 and has got very interested in pocamon cards.
( a game way to complicated for me to understand) but i've also noticed it's linked to a computer game, which seems harmless enough but i also noticed advertisements for more violent games appear.. i would value people's opinion on whether, you think video games cause bad behaviour in kids.
i should mention my kid says i limit his time on these games, much more than other children's parents, and i was thinking of reevaluating that rule.. thanks.. the rebel..
WTWIZARD " you are referring to games like Pokemon...."
i guess I should clarify that point.I am referring to the advertisements for other games that come on line when my kid is playing Pokemon. These games I assume are not rated E10.
The Rebel.
The only thing I can say, we now have proof the arse holes running this crap religion really don't believe in " hell fire"
